Air Filter Replacement
- Replace the air filter with the MAF sensor
- Open the top of the air box
- Remove the old air filter, install the new one
- Securely close the top of the air box
- Test drive the vehicle
MAF Sensor Repair
- Scan the computer in the car for codes
- Verify the mass air flow sensor is throwing codes
- Remove & replace the sensor if found faulty
- Check vacuum hoses for leaks & cracks
- Test drive the vehicle to ensure proper function
Do I Need MAF Sensor Repair?
Believe it or not, it’s actually pretty common to experience mass air flow sensor problems. Once the mass air flow (MAF) sensor gets dirty the same way your air filter gets dirty. This will cause the sensor to lose its ability to correctly read the amount of air coming into the engine. If you find yourself in this situation, you’re going to need mass air flow sensor replacement. You can’t clean most mas air flow sensors. But, you need them for your vehicle to function.
Symptoms of mass air flow sensor problems can include:
- The engine is very hard to start or turn over.
- The engine stalls shortly after starting.
- The engine hesitates or drags while under load or idle.
- Hesitation and jerking during acceleration.
- The engine hiccups.
- Excessively rich or lean idling.
